Position: Outside Sales

American Home Design is a locally-owned & operated home improvement company serving Middle TN for over 40 years. We are looking for Outside Sales Representatives to go on pre-set appointments into homes and provide the information needed to invest in the home improvement product via an exact, well trained sales system. We sell and install Replacement Windows, Outdoor Living Products, Bath Remodeling, Walk-in Bathtubs, etc.

American Home Design has an excellent reputation for taking care of our customers and maintains an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. We have on-going marketing efforts every day to bring in new leads for our company. We advertise on TV, Newspaper, Events, Shows, etc. Plus we have a $1 million dollar showroom in Goodlettsville where potential customers can come in and see our products before they purchase. Our Call Center schedules the majority of the Reps’ appointments.

Scope & Responsibility:

Outside Sales Representatives run two appointments a day meeting potential customers at their home; usually one afternoon and one evening appointment. Our Call Center schedules the appointment times to ensure that all homeowners and decision makers will be present when the rep goes out to their home. They meet with the potential customers and assess their needs/wants via a survey. They will do a presentation on a laptop computer, followed-by guiding the potential customers through a design process to determine what work can be done that will meet their home and budgetary needs.

The reps give the homeowners all the information needed in order to make a decision. They will collect a deposit and get the signed documents needed to take the next steps with the new customer’s project. At times, the reps will work with our in-house Finance Manager to get financing for our customers.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Self-motivated, self-starter, driven to succeed
  • Ability to build rapport and trust quickly with potential customers
  • Effective presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to carry 50 lbs. (display samples)
  • Must have reliable vehicle that can hold samples
  • Industry experience not necessary, however successful in-home sales experience is preferred
